I have no idea what Gurgle was doing, Angel. They dropped this into the spam bucket - good job I checked (there was a spam comment from October last year that I didn't know was there. Shows how I often I check that folder!)
Well, the background check thing will deter some. As for the rest? We're gonna need some new laws about firearms.
Yeah, I noticed that it disappeared right after I posted it. I initially thought it was because I included a link, but I've done that before with no problem. Maybe because the entire thing was a link. Who knows.
Background check? I trust you're referring to a background check for buying ammo (which doesn't yet exist, as far as I know), because no background check - or law, for that matter - will prevent people from creating firearms.
To be fair, though, people can already create firearms at home... and do so legally. 3D printers will only make it easier, as they will require little to no skill.
But away from that topic... I read somewhere that someone came up with a house that can be built with a 3D printer. I'll have to look for it.
Well, if you had a 3D printer large enough, you could probably print the pipe and fittings, though I wouldn't want to be around such a thing printing PVC (chlorine... very toxic... a phew!). Maybe even the pressure tank... depending on whether the plastic can provide the required strength.
Hey, is the tank leaking, or might it just be a bad bladder? Oh wait... you said it couldn't be repaired, so I guess that answers the question.
3-D printed guns!

I wonder if I could 3d print my own plumbing? And pressure tank? (Ours has gone wrong. They can't be repaired, only replaced. Oh joy. More plumbing.)
DeleteSigh.
:-)
Oh no, not again!

The bladder went, and the type of tank we have can't be had, any more. I'll put a smaller one in when we can afford it.
DeleteThe next house we buy, I'll be doing a *very* thorough inspection of both the electrics and the plumbing!
