Transgendered News is an auto-generated "news" section of Topix, which, in turn, is basically a site that scrapes content in the hopes that they can sell advertising against it.
Anyway, what did Niall Ferguson's 'ode to imperialism' have to do with sex changes? I checked my memory; still nothing. I checked Google. Ah..Ha! Mr Mishra had a book reviewed in The Economist. Still no idea why it's linked to sex changes; I now remembered the book was about intellectuals in Asia. The Economist liked it, I remember that. Still, I had no idea about the connection to ever-younger sex changes. With reluctance, I clicked on the Topix link. And all was explained. :-)
For whatever reason, Topix' screen-scraping had scraped the wrong bit of the page!
Still, it's really nice to see Niall Ferguson being taken to task. The man does tend to the overblown defense of idées anciennes.
Well, that was a little adventure. :-)
