Couldn't have happened to a nicer [sic] company

EMC has been downgraded from an "outperform" to a "market perform". Which might not mean much to anyone, but it brought tears of joy to me. :-)

They're going to miss projections, too! :-) :-)

If there's a company I cannot stand, would dearly love to see go bust - it's that one. I crossed swords with them years ago, and suffice to say: I seriously considered a libel suit. The simple fact is, their pride and joy - a centralized, antiquated and expensive storage system - is old hat. That sort of product can't have a place in the nimble future of data storage - its roots are in the old world of mainframes and their draconian processes and limitations.

If I were to make a market recommendation, it would be "they'll be outperformed by their competition within the next few years. Sell."

Sure they have virtualization; that's because they bought the innovative company.

  1. EMC in this case being where data lives?

    1. They have a large lock on the market because of how they "sell" their systems - they lease the important bits. (Or at least they used to; I don't see any particular reason why they would have changed their business strategy. They're also known to be brutal, bordering on the unfair, competitors.)

Miserable attempts at insult, self-pity and whiny sniveling isn't. There are other blogs that specialize in, and relish, that sort of pedantry.
