Sen McConnell feels a need to provide Jon Stewart with material

Mitch McConnell, Republican Senate Leader, clearly thinks Jon Stewart doesn't have enough material to work with.

After the disgraceful and silly rejection of the UN Treaty (the headline to that Guardian article is "US Senate rejects UN treaty on disability rights amid GOP opposition". It should be US Senate rejects UN treaty on disability rights amid GOP silliness"), Senator McConnell tried to do an end-run around the Dems. Except they took him up on his offer - and he was forced to filibuster himself.  :-)

Sen. McConnell proposed allowing the Prez to set the debt ceiling, with Congress giving a yay/nay vote on the proposed limit. He figured the Democrats would have a fit over this and then they could be portrayed as not wanting the very change they're advocating. Except his Evil Plot [sic] didn't quite work out. The Dems liked the idea. ... Probably because it was so transparent they decided to let him embarrass himself. That Evil Plot worked. So they said they'd put it forward for a vote, leaving Sen McConnell to filibuster his own proposal.

And you thought politics was dry. :-)

Miserable attempts at insult, self-pity and whiny sniveling isn't. There are other blogs that specialize in, and relish, that sort of pedantry.
