May they rest in peace, for they will be back at it in no time at all

All the reporters, pundits and political spin-doctors are on vacation. Many went on Wednesday, more fled the scene of the crime over the weekend. They'll all want a well-earned rest. The GOP spinners will tell potential (one night?) beau's they were on the winning team; the liberal spinners will too. Almost all will ignore the newspapers, blogs and Facebook postings exhorting them to Give! Support! Share! and Like! All of them will sleep in, even if that means getting up without feeling rushed and actually having gotten some sleep. It might take a couple of weeks before they feel well-rested.

Egos will be replenished and, later, resumés will be polished. Thought, on both sides, will be on "What next?" Liberal spinners will be looking for places in the new Congress, in any Cabinet reshuffle and the resulting "political appointment" maelstrom. Many from Romney's campaign will be wondering why they didn't think to question their bosses; "What is next? is likely to be a troublesome and difficult question.

And then it's just a question of "When will the circus start again?" Because the adrenalin rush of a political campaign, the stress-filled days, the euphoria and despair, the Charybdis of the campaign, sense of being needed, being wanted, of doing something urgent, important, critical - that's too delicious to leave behind.

Miserable attempts at insult, self-pity and whiny sniveling isn't. There are other blogs that specialize in, and relish, that sort of pedantry.
