Todd Akin's misdemeanor wasn't the words...

Todd Akin's biggest crime, and idiocy, isn't that he believes junk science. It's that he provided voice to what has become two core Republican values: the rejection of facts and the rejection of women's rights. He's being punished not for what he said, but for the simple fact that he said what the Republicans are making their platform: the obvious and silly rejection of women as human beings.

People have, quite rightly, resoundingly turned on the twit for his stupid, derogatory and misogynist comments about rape. The Republicans have turned on the man because he clearly stated the Republican policy position on abortion, rape, violence against women and women's rights. They would rather he obfuscated more. They'd rather the Conservative war on women not be so obvious.

The man is a fool. But he's an honest one. And that should scare every woman in America.

  1. This is the best, most concise post on this topic that I have seen yet. Thank you CA - may I borrow (with credit, of course!)?

Miserable attempts at insult, self-pity and whiny sniveling isn't. There are other blogs that specialize in, and relish, that sort of pedantry.
