The irrelevance of that (information)

Dana, the always consistently arbitrary Dana, has written what I think is a heartfelt and quite justifiably angry post about her operative status. She rants incoherently a bit, but that's expected. What's interesting is that some folk seem to think that her owning a penis is important.

Let's be very clear about this: it isn't.

Not in the slightest.

People's ideas should be judged, not their appendages and gender reassignment surgery status. You can judge people on their ideas. But no one should ever judge someone on such a casual, thoughtless criteria as whether they have a cock or not! Even if Dana makes a habit of exactly that, it doesn't justify returning the favor, so to speak.

Yes, I know she's open to charges of hypocrisy, and that her basic argument is self-serving and, ultimately, quite ignorant. She's known for being binary on the whole issue; for her, you either want the appendage or not and if not, to her, you just have to get rid of it. All she's doing with her argument is proving her limited thinking and demonstrating that she's human. And yes, she invites a lot of crap to her doorstep and then complains whines when it gets there. But she's a person, and as such, her operative status is irrelevant. Absolutely and totally.

Comments that are melancholic and miserable are discouraged; self-pitying whining is also discouraged. Gender Reality exists for, and welcomes, that sort of sniveling.
