Tea is GOP's cocaine?

Niall Stanage, writing in The Guardian, has interesting take on the whole Tea Party phenomena. One line, in particular, "rung that bell":
The answer is becoming ever clearer. Tea is the Republican party's cocaine: thrilling for a moment, but ruinous over time.
After reading that, I'm starting to think Karl Rove has made a grievous error: he's now the patsy, the person who wittingly funds the addict in the hope they'll get better with soft love.

What I do know is that the GOP is having a wild party, and tomorrow will bring about the hangover. It's more a question of how grumpy they'll be to the rest of the nation. So far they're proving to be nasty drunks, which leads me to believe they certainly won't be accepting of their condition when they wake up. Will they go for the hair of the dog that bit them? Somehow I don't think they'll pledge, and mean, abstention! I don't think they'll reach for the aspirin, either.

Whatever they do, it's not going to be pretty.
