In the nick of time...

One of the worst things about riding in the rain is the drivers in their cars. You'd think they were the ones getting wet! Instead, they're in their temperature controlled boxes, complete with entertainment systems, GPS screens, window wipers and roofs.

I thought the rain was stopping. I was wrong. I got drenched! As I'm on the final 3 mile stretch, I noticed the sky was turning a funny yellow - never a good sign. About 2 minutes after I'd stepped into the house - a big thunderstorm started! It is now a soaking rain, complete with angry flashes of lightning and big booms of thunder.

I'm sure glad I didn't take too long at the store! And to the two idiots who passed me, illegally: sod you!

  1. I am always impressed by the skill of bikers in the rain. I've never seen one wipe out, and in bad weather, I frequently see them flocking to an underpass. Makes sense.

  2. It can get a little hair-raising... For instance, there was a moment or two, this afternoon, when the back tire of the bike was having its own debate on its future direction.

Generally, the wiser biker backs off in the rain. And heads to the nearest underpass! :-)
