The Flogging of Nadya Suleman

Octuplet Mom Nadya Suleman must be feeling like she's got the starring role in real life by Franz Kafka. Perhaps she's read "The Trial"?

She has 8 kids, on top of the 6 she already has - and the world decides it has to get into the family planning business. Well, her family planning. Just hers. Like it's anyone's business how kids she has! Last I checked the United States doesn't have a policy barring families from having more than 1 child. Heck, one guy I know is 14th of 15 kids. What's the big deal?

She received death threats - can you believe the idiocy of some?!? - and the Huffington Post links to a TMZ story about how she doesn't pay parking tickets! Goodness me! It gets worse: she had her car booted, once. Oh my - how we will cope with all the revelations about the woman?

Give her a break. She needs one. Leave her alone - how many kids she has is not your decision to make. Last I checked, we live in a free country. If she abuses the kids, fine - something can be done, then. If she's doing what she can to be a good Mom, she needs help and support - not condemnation, death threats and idiotic villification!

Too many people are more than willing to insert themselves into the lives of others. Especially when they're not invited!

  1. I think she is crazy, how do you support 14 kids? Welfare I guess.

  2. Oh, I'm not disputing her mental state - her words certainly indicate that therapy would be a good idea!

According to one news report - on the otherwise reputable "Anderson Cooper 360" - she is collecting welfare. (That's the thing that everyone thinks gives them them the license to criticize her.)

Hey - thanks for commenting! I recall we had a brief discussion some time ago, and then my computer crashed and I lost the address of your blog! :-)

Miserable attempts at insult, self-pity and whiny sniveling isn't. There are other blogs that specialize in, and relish, that sort of pedantry.
